The skin around your eyes is probably the most delicate and sensitive part of your face. Applying eye cream daily is a no brainer - here are some tips on applying it the right way.
APPLY EYE CREAM ON THE ORBITAL BONE BELOW YOUR EYE
This is the bone just above your cheek bone and also the area that your eye cream is designed to target.
Take a pea sized amount and apply in gentle tapping motions using your ring finger on the orbital bone. DO NOT pull or tug at the skin around your eyes.
Start from the outer corner and work your way in while applying eye cream.
DO NOT APPLY EYE CREAM CLOSE TO YOUR LOWER LASH LINE
This is a common mistake a lot of us tend to make.
Your body heat will naturally cause the product to warm up and migrate to the skin around your eyes.
Applying it too close to the eyes to start with causes the product to enter and irritate the eye.
CHOOSE THE RIGHT INGREDIENTS
Your choice of eye cream depends on what your specific concern is.
Make sure it is light weight and does not contain heavy oils.
To prevent wrinkles, reach for a night cream with retinol or antioxidants. If tired, swollen eyes are your issue, then seek out a cooling gel or one with ingredients like caffeine. Try an eye cream with illuminating particles and vitamin K to address fine lines.
Look for fragrance free products as these can trigger allergic reactions and create more puffiness.
