Deal With Dandruff - At Home!

Those little flakes on your shoulders or in your hair are the classic tell tale signs of dandruff. Dandruff is nothing but dead skin cells that fall off your scalp.  

Hair follicles secrete an oil called sebum, which can become a  breeding ground for yeast or fungus. This yeast is what causes dandruff. Being exposed to a lot of dry air can cause skin to dry out and flake, which can look like dandruff.

 

Several over the counter medication as well as shampoos made specifically to tackle dandruff exist. 

Here are 2 home remedies for you to try get rid of that nasty white stuff. 

 

REMEDY 1:

What: Baking Soda, this works like a mild scrub for your scalp, helps in reducing dead skin cells and also absorbs oil.

How to apply:
Take a tablespoon of baking soda in a bowl.
Wet your hair and massage baking soda onto your scalp. Leave it on for 5 mintues.
Rinse your hair with lukewarm water.
Repeat this twice a week.

Note: Do not shampoo your hair after this treatment. You can follow this remedy in between your shampoo days.

Remedy 2:


What: Apple Cider Vinegar, this restores the pH balance of the scalp, thereby inhibiting the growth of yeast.

How to apply:

Add 2 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar to a bucket full of water
Rinse hair with this water
Let your hair air dry
Within a month, the appearance of dandruff will be reduced considerably.

Note: Do not shampoo your hair after this treatment. You can follow this remedy in between your shampoo days.
