This one is for all you non-morning persons who still need to look like you spent a decent amount of time getting ready before leaving the house!
These are the absolute 4 things you must have in your "quick-exit" makeup bag.
Note before we start: we do not count moisturiser and sun screen as makeup. Those are ESSENTIALS. We cannot stress that often enough!
1. Concealer. If you've only had a few hours of sleep chances are you will have dark circles. You can get away with no foundation or makeup, but concealer is going to be needed at strategic places. Our tip: apply concealer with a damp sponge for a dewey and natural finish.
If you don't have time for eyeshadow and - gasp, eyeliner! - apply a few swipes of mascara on your upper and lower lashes. A volumising
mascara (hint: the one with the thick brush) will open up your eyes and draw attention away from the fact that your face isn't wearing much else :-)
3. Blush. Find a flattering shade for your skin type. Apricots and peaches work great for medium to olive tones while pink is always flattering on lighter skins. Apply to the apple of your cheeks to wake up the entire face. Our personal favourite: Benefit Cosmetics's cheek and lip tints which come in shades to suit every skin tone. The perfect "I-just-worked-out-flush" in a bottle!
4. Lip gloss.
Lip gloss is not only quick and easy to apply, but also gives your face a fresh, well rested look. But select your shade wisely - nudes can wash you out (unless of course you have highly pigmented lips) and dark colours need too much precision, not to mention caffeine in your blood stream! Go for a juicy peach (we like ColorBar Sheer Glass Lip Gloss
in shade Coral Embrace) or something with pink undertones (think Natio Rich Color Creme Gloss
in Calm) to liven up your face!
So there you go beautiful - xoxo for now!
