Unless you've been living under a rock all this while you will know that lip crayons are the new "it" thing to have in your make-up stash. We know people who swear by them and others who think they are a waste.
To put an end to all of the speculation, we did what we do best - we picked up two shades of Faces New Ultime Pro Lip Crayon to bring you our genuine thoughts on them.
Faces New Ultime Pro Lip Crayon comes in ten different shades that are classified under two separate finishes.
One is the starry matte that has an underline shimmer and the other one is the matte finish.
There are four available shades in the starry matte finish and six on the matte finish.
With fun names like Irresistable Pink, Lasting Kiss, Obsession & Sinful we were definitely at a loss on which one we liked best. In the end, we picked up the Hot Wired from the Starry Matte collection and the Peach Me from the Matte collection and decided to give it a go.
Shaz from the MSM Beauty Squad sampled Hot Wired from the Starry Matte range - a deep pink colour lipstick with very very tiny gold specks in it. The colour is intense & bold - it definitely draws extra attention to your face. Even if you aren't a fan of shimmer lipsticks, we're sure you'll love this one. The shimmer is really light and doesn't look too apparent unless one take a closer look. The colour is heavily pigmented and one swipe is all you need for the perfect colour build-up.
Peach Me from the Matte range was recommended to us as a Nude lip colour (we are constantly on the search for that perfect nude shade). When swatched on the back of the hand, it did seem to fit the bill. However, on application, it turned out to have a stronger than expected peach undertone. It is nevertheless a very pretty & flattering shade, one which our MSM Beauty Squad member Kat wore for three days straight!
The texture of both the Ultime Pro Lip Crayons is velvetty matte and it goes on very smoothly on your lips. We mentally compared this to Lakme's Lip Tints (reviewed a while ago here) and trust us, this one is SO much smoother! We didn't prep our lips before application however if you have very dry lips you may need to apply a little lip balm before you apply this lip crayon.
While the Ultime Pro Lip Crayons are not big on moisturising ability, they aren't as drying as most matte lip crayons are. Like we said before, if you have very dry lips make sure you prep them with a little lip balm before hand, otherwise you'll be good to go without it too!
The Faces Ultime Pro Lip Crayons would definitely be positioned under long stay lipsticks. The colour does not bleed or settle into lines and stays put without touch-ups for a good four to five hours.
The Faces Ultime Pro Lip Crayons are definitely worth it! The application is smooth, the colours are rich & pigmented plus they're really easy to apply both as a lip liner and lip crayon. The only downside, however, is that eventually you will need to sharpen the lipstick in order to get more product - which means you will need to have a sharpener handy. Currently, Faces is giving out a free sharpener with every Ultime Pro Lip Crayon so make sure you run on over to your closest Faces counter and get one for yourself.
