Beauty Junkies and Lazy Girls unite to give you the best Monsoon Beauty Hacks

While monsoon is the favourite time of the year for most of us, it also manages to get on the bad side of many.

There's no denying how amazing it feels to fall asleep listening to the pitter patter of the rain on your window but trying to work your way around frizzy hair and oily, greasy skin is NOT fun!

All of us here at MSM Headquarters are huge fans of beauty hacks! A few of us are beauty junkies (specially Diva and Kat) while the rest of us are just plain lazy. When our powers combine, we come up with ingenious beauty hacks that we live and swear by.

Read on to know Team MSM's favourite monsoon beauty hacks to make looking gorgeous a whole lot easier!

  • TAKE OFF THAT FACE GREASE :

A DIY egg white face pack is very effective in getting rid of that messy, oily skin. Mix 1 egg white and 1 tsp honey to make a fine paste. Apply it all over your face and allow it to set until it gets dry. Wipe it off and wash your face with cold water. This pack is also great for tightening and brightening your skin. You can use this paste three times a week, but we don't recommend storing this. Make a fresh pack and use it up within half an hour of making it. Team Lazy approves, because, come on, it has two ingredients that are in every kitchen. It doesn't get easier than this!

  • KNOW THE NEWEST BFFs IN TOWN? PRIMER & BB!

Team Lazy believes that following your regular concealer, cream foundation, sheer powder beauty routine is so last season (literally!). We introduce you to the newest besties in town- a primer and a light BB cream. We recommend Benefit Cosmetics POREfessional (featured in the May MSM Select Box) and a light BB cream for your daily college/work look. The Benefit Cosmetics POREfessional is so amazing for removing all excess sheen from your face and can be used over make up as well for a touch up during the day...

Team Beauty Junkies step in to give you an extra tip- if you do want to apply concealer, use an under eye cream before applying concealer. This ensures your skin is hydrated and ensures smooth coverage.

  • GET THAT GLOW:

Team Beauty Junkies recommends soaking rose petals in water and then crushing them (or just use pure rosewater) and mixing it well with honey and yogurt for your own DIY face glow pack. Apply the paste to your face for 15 minutes and wash it off with cold water. Team Lazy, however prefers to swap the rose water for your Saante Rose/Orange Face Scrub. They're using the ones they got in their June MSM Select Boxes. If you don't have it get it here: http://msmbox.com/collections/skincare/products/balancing-face-scrub

  • KEEP THAT MANE FRIZZ FREE:
Beauty junkies say if your hair is frizzy, try mixing a packet of sugar (about a teaspoon or so) with a cup of water. Pour a bit into your palms then run hands over dry hair. Your hair will get a little bit of “crunch” and hold because you literally just made homemade hair spray!

Lazy girls say, just grab a little Roots Professional Morocvita Argan Oil and lightly caress your locks with it post shampoo. Packed with moisture, this leave-on hair oil manages your frizz for you. If you're wondering where you can get it, here's where: http://msmbox.com/collections/haircare/products/morocvita-hair-oil

    • KEEP THOSE TOOTSIES PRETTY:

The most important thing in monsoons is to keep your feet dry. Wash your feet as soon as you get indoors and make sure you dry them well (specially in between your toes) and walk around barefoot for a bit to make sure your feet can breathe.

Also -  a secret tip, wear nail paint! The most common ailment during monsoons is fungus on your toenails. Nail paint acts like a barrier between fungi and your toe nails. This doesn't mean that you don't let your nails breathe, though! Take your nail paint off every couple of weeks and let those pretty tootsies breathe. Also, avoid closed shoes. They take longer to dry and thereby increase your chances of disease. Team Lazy is too scared of fungus to disapprove! :p

    That's all for now, gorgeous.
