Surprising Ways Coconut Oil Can Make You Prettier
This product can basically replace like ten of your beauty products in a flash.
We know this sounds absolutely crazy (we thought so too when we first learnt of this) but rinsing your mouth with coconut oil is an old remedy called “oil pulling” that lots of people swear by (including Kylie Jenner!)
Apparently, coconut oil contains lauric acid that gets rid of the bacteria found in plaque that make your teeth yellow.
All you have to do is scoop out a tablespoon of coconut oil and swish, pull and push it around your teeth for five minutes (like you'd do with a mouth wash). Spit it out and brush your teeth as per usual for brighter, whiter teeth.
Mix coffee and coconut oil together for an amazing DIY Body scrub. Keep it in your bathroom and scrub yourself with this mix, at least once a week. This scrub works wonders on cellulite as well as stretch marks. You will be pleased with the results!
Believe it or not, coconut oil works as the perfect, moisturising shaving cream.
Keep a bottle in the shower, and use it before running your razor on your legs or arms.
We've tried this and it definitely works better than soap and is way easier on the pocket than shaving creams.
Remember the winters when your mother/grand mother would lather you with coconut oil and get you stepping out of home smelling sweetly of pina colada - although without the pina or the beach or your imaginary tanned boyfriend with the six pack abs?
Well, believe it or not, they were right!
Coconut oil actually penetrates deeper than your everyday lotions and works towards strengthening the underlying tissue to make your skin plump and healthy. Lather up!
Hair Cleanser and Hair Mask
As gross as it may sound, our scalp actually produces a lot of bacteria. (eww!)
Lucky for us, coconut oil has high anti-fungal and anti- bacterial properties.
Massage luke warm oil into your scalp, the good old fashioned way, and wash off for fresh, clean hair.
Under Eye Cream
Coconut oil is full of anti- oxidants that ward off free radicals.
This helps slow the ageing process while keeping your skin hydrated - making it soft, supple and glowing.
Keep some on your bed-side table and massage under your eyes and over your eyelids with your ring finger before bed every night.
Don't stress about buying expensive highlighters from your favourite cosmetic brand.
Dab a wee smidge of coconut oil on your cheekbones and just under the arch of your eye brows to enhance your skin's natural pigments and as a soft highlighter for that coveted dewy look.
Anti - Frizz Serum
Lightly finger comb just a little bit of coconut hair on your hair from ear down to tame those fly aways and frizz without making your hair look greasy!
And there you have it - one little bottle of oil and so many different uses.
We're heading out to buy some right away!
