Growing up in this part of the world it would be close to impossible to not be aware of Neem (Azadirachta Indica) and its medicinal properties.
The bark of the tree as well as its leaves are used in traditional medicine as well as in most homes as a safe, natural and non-toxic way to control pests and mites.
Neem oil - that extracted by the cold pressed method - is one of the purest forms of oil and the most suitable for use in skincare and haircare related treatments.
We just put our new knowledge of this wonder product - acquired thanks to an informative workshop conducted by Kama Ayurveda along with MSM Box - to good use by summarising how exactly this oil is made and how to use it in the most effective manner.
WHAT IT IS
Kama Ayurveda's Neem Oil is sourced from organic farmers in Tamil Nadu.
The oil is further extracted from the seeds of the neem tree using the cold pressed method (in case the term has you baffled, cold pressing is oil extracted by a simple pressing of the seed without any external heat source or solvent being used in the process. This gives the highest quality of oil which retains all its natural properties)
Since this oil is in its purest form, it is almost always blended with other carrier oils before applying it on your skin or hair.
